Our Classroom Website

Welcome!

Hi there! My name is Mr. Garcia and this is our Middle School ELA Website. Below you can find my syllabus for each grade, which will have  my expectations for class as well as what we will be working on. If you have any questions or concerns about the class, my information is posted in the "Contact Me" section. I will always answer as quickly as possible.

As you'll see below, the class will focus on writing. My goal is to ensure the students have a solid base to grow from as they continue writing. At the same time, the course will focus on preparing the students for the FSA exam at the end of the year.

Instructional material

The text that I use in class is called “Grammar for Writing”. It’s an amazing book that will aid the class with constructing higher level essays.

We will also be utilizing some technological teaching tools. The students will be expected to complete iready assignments for homework. These will be graded, so please make sure they take it seriously. All students have been given their sign-ins and passwords and should be keeping up with the weekly requirement.

Homework

All homework I give is due on the due date.  I take off a letter grade each day it is late. If it becomes a zero I will send a message home.
